Terra-Cotta Warriors is one of the century's greatest architectural discoveries which located about 30 km. east of XiAn, Thousands of lifestyle terra cotta warriors who had been standing guard by the tomb of the emperor Qin Shi Huang for over 2,000 years.
Three vaults, containing an estimated 8,000 pottery warrior figures and chariot figures as tall and big as real human beings and real horses are queuing up in a battle array of 38 columns. The figures are really and vividly modelled, succinctly mounded and painted in colours, as they are of extremely high artistic value. Some of the warrior figures are holding catapults, bows and arrows and long spears in their hands and others are carrying bronze swords in their belts. In particular, the bronze swords and spears are as rustless, sharp and bright as new ones.
All these terra cotta warriors face the east, because the State of Qin in the Warring States Period was located in the west and fought eastward against the ducal states.
Every soldier looks so lively, brimming with energy. They all wear helmets, armor and black boots, and each carries a spear and a dagger-axe. each warrior has a different facial expression and manner, ranging in size from 1.78 m. to 1.87 m. in height, they are clad in armor or short, belted gowns. The torsos are hollow, with solid arms and legs.
These army was well organized, emperor Qin Shi Huang led his mighty army, galloping across the battlefield, defeating six ducal states to unify China. These terra cotta warriors and horses reproduce the grand picture of his leading the army, fighting north and south on many fronts.
